A letter from Miss Procter
Dear Parents,
Here is my last letter of the term and my last as Edleston’s Interim Head.
We have had a very successful autumn term! The Reception children have settled well into school life brilliantly and there is a lovely calm, productive working atmosphere when we walk around the whole school.
With the end of this term, also comes some more changes – ones we were expecting but changes none the less.
Miss Heikkuri will sadly be leaving us as her contract [to release Mrs Astles to be my Deputy] has come to an end. Miss Heikkuri has done a great job working with the Y1 team to give the children brilliant start to KS1 which has been shown in their work. Thank you Miss Heikkuri for all your dedication – we will miss you and your new school are lucky to have you!
Mrs Astles will return back in to class in Y1 after being a brilliant deputy to me this term – thank you for all your hard work and support! Mrs Astles will be going back to Year1. She will be the main class teacher on Monday, Thursday and Friday and will be working out of class on her SENCO duties on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The extra time she has had this term to support our SEN pupils and their families has been invaluable and so we want to make sure we can continue with this. We are lucky to have employed a very experienced teacher in Miss Grehan who will be covering Tuesdays and Wednesdays in Y1. Many of the Y1, Y2 and Y3 children have already had the pleasure of working with Miss Grehan in phonics boosters this year and last, and all Y1 are used to her being in class 3 mornings a week already. I am sure they will all adapt quickly to the new routine.
Finally I will be stepping down from the Interim Head role to welcome Miss Goldsmith into her new role as our Head teacher. I will be returning to my role as Deputy Head and working Fridays in Year 5 😊. It has been an absolute pleasure this term leading our school and getting to work with some of you more closely which I will look forward to continuing.
Thanks again for all your support this term - our amazing pupils, families and staff make Edleston THE best school to be a part of. I know Miss Goldsmith is really looking forward to starting in January and I know you all will give her the same warm reception that I have had from you all. I know she will love being a part of our school community too!!
Have a great holiday doing whatever you have planned and enjoy some time with your amazing children!
We look forward to seeing you on Monday 8th January.
Warm regards,
Miss Procter
Interim Head
